The radio recording is what turns a stopwatch replay into one that tracks the actual call. Upload it from the incident's Upload Audio option, or pull it from the public OpenMHZ archive with OpenMHZ in the Radio tab. Once it is attached, transcription and event detection both work from it.
Press Transcribe (it reads Re-transcribe once every transmission already has text). The result is labeled an AI draft — verify against the recording, because it is a starting point, not a finding.
Accuracy tracks what your department has already taught it. Admin → Preferences → Unit naming & callsigns lets you list the unit names and radio callsigns the transcription should recognize — they are sent with every transcription and event-detection request for your department. Corrections you make later (below) are folded in the same way, ranked by how often each one recurs, so a term you have corrected thirty times always outranks one you corrected once.
Detect Events scans the transcript for the moments a report is built around — on scene, working fire, mayday, and the rest of the department's event vocabulary — and drops each one on the timeline at the right offset. Edit the transcript and press Re-detect to run it again against the corrected text.
Each detected event carries a thumbs-up and a thumbs-down in the event log. Thumbs-up marks it confirmed; thumbs-down marks it rejected and opens an inline correction, and committing one renames the event and stores the correction. Neither button removes the event from the timeline, and your verdict rides the next detection pass for your department, not just this incident.
Click any transcript line to edit it in place. Save the correction and it is stored for this department, not just this incident — the next transcription run, and the next department member's, benefits from it. Auto-Correct applies every correction your department has already made to the current transcript in one pass.
Import CAD accepts a pasted Bryx-style log (a timestamp line followed by a Unit: Status line) or a single-line format (timestamp - unit - status on one line). Paste, review the parsed rows, and import — each becomes a timeline event aligned to the recording automatically when one exists.
A recording sometimes carries traffic from a call that shares the channel, or a line you don't want to leave the department. Toggle Redact on that transmission. Your own department still sees the real text, with a visible Redacted badge — nothing is hidden from the people who were on the call. Where the incident leaves the department — the AI report draft, a PDF export, an incident published to the shared library — that line reads [redacted] instead.
