A pre-plan is a building record your department keeps year-round, not a form filled out after the call. Build it once, from a desk or a walk-through, and it's there the next time anyone needs that address.
On the Dashboard, switch to the Pre-Plans tab. Every saved pre-plan shows as a card, and a search box above the grid filters them by address. Click + New Pre-Plan to start one, or click an existing card to open it for editing.
The pre-plan editor opens on three tabs. Location takes the Address through the same autocomplete used across the app, shows the resolved coordinates once it geocodes, and has a Tags field for labeling the building. If the app finds a matching building footprint at that address, it offers to confirm the match — confirm it and the footprint is applied when you save, or choose Trace manually to skip it and draw the outline yourself later.
Building covers construction type, stories, roof type, and occupancy, plus checkboxes for sprinklered, standpipe, and basement. Its Building Notes field is where hazards, access points, and special considerations belong. Notes is a separate, longer field for anything else — pre-incident intelligence, access codes, contacts, tactical considerations.
The editor modal doesn't draw floor plans on its own. Instead, open a saved pre-plan's Open Map icon, and the app builds a temporary incident from the pre-plan's address, footprint, and any floor plans already saved, then opens it on the tactical map with a PRE-PLAN badge in place of the usual incident header. Trace rooms and fixtures there the same way you would on a real incident — see Draw the floor plan. Click Save & Back and the floor plan, along with any building-detail changes, writes back to the pre-plan; the temporary incident itself is discarded.
Start a new incident and enter an address within about 150 meters of a saved pre-plan, and a banner reading Pre-plan found: appears with the matching address and a Load Pre-Plan button. Click it and the pre-plan's address and coordinates fill in the new incident's form.
A target hazard row that's linked to a pre-plan carries its own Open pre-plan link, so an officer scanning the district inventory is one click from the building's full record. See Target hazard inventory.
Pre-plans belong to your department — nobody outside it can read or edit yours, and any signed-in member of the department can create or edit one.
