What this does not do
a published location is the utility's record, not a flow test or proof of water — confirm water supply on scene. Coverage is only the two publishers' service areas; an empty list means no published data covers the location, never that there is no water. MCWA publishes no service status, so every MCWA hydrant reads "status not published". The list is a copy CTT imports from each publisher, not a live feed. The Hydrants panel in the left sidebar holds three things: the hydrants on this incident, your department's hydrant library, and the hydrants a water utility has published near the incident.
Place a hydrant
+ Place Hydrant turns on the hydrant tool. Click the map where the hydrant is.
Add at Map Center drops a hydrant at the center of the map view. Drag any placed hydrant on the map to move it.
Click a hydrant's name in the list to rename it. Save to Library keeps a copy in your department's library.
Library switches the list to that library, Load places a saved hydrant on this incident, and Placed switches back.
Adding, moving, and removing a hydrant can be undone like any other change on the board. See Undo, redo, and saving.
Published hydrants near the incident
Below the list, Published hydrants lists the hydrants a water utility has published within 400 m of the incident, nearest first. The publishers are the City of Rochester and the Monroe County Water Authority (MCWA). Each row gives the distance in feet, the publisher, and only what that publisher states: flow in GPM, static pressure, main and outlet size, and whether the hydrant is listed in or out of service. A hydrant listed out of service is struck through. MCWA does not publish a service status, so every MCWA hydrant reads "status not published".
The same hydrants appear on the map as hollow rings, drawn beneath the hydrants you placed. A ring takes the hydrant's NFPA flow-class color when the publisher gives one, and a dashed ring means the service status is not published. Clear Show on map to hide the rings. The setting is not saved; reloading the page shows them again.
To use a published hydrant, press Place on its row or click its ring on the map. Either one places it on the incident as a working hydrant, named from the published address when there is one. Only the location and name are copied. The published flow, pressure, and sizes stay on the published row, so the placed hydrant has no main size until you enter one. Clicking a ring that is already placed does not add a second copy.
A drill with no location has nothing to search from, so the section does not appear.
"No published hydrant data covers this location" describes the data, not the street. It does not mean there is no water there.
Credits. The publishers' credits appear at the foot of the section, and the City of Rochester's required disclaimer appears whenever its hydrants are listed.
