What this does not do
**training incidents only**, and it never touches a real incident. Only photos your department took — map, aerial, and Street View captures are structurally barred from ever reaching the generator. The provenance mark is baked into the image and cannot be cropped out inside the app. No AI-vendor names in customer copy.
A severity ladder turns one photo your department already has of a building
into three — the same shot at a light, a moderate, and a heavy fire — so a
drill's size-up changes as the drill clock runs, on a building your crew
recognizes.
Training incidents only
Severity ladders are reachable only on a training incident. In the
Conditions panel, find Fire severity photo sets (training) and tap
Create photo set. Generating a set needs a User role or above — a
lower-role account sees the button, disabled, with a note to ask a
department admin to change the role.
Choosing the base photo
Every photo your department has uploaded to the incident shows in the
picker, so you can always see what's there — but only some of them can
start a photo set. An eligible photo is one your department took and
uploaded, saved to the incident. A photo that isn't eligible is shown
disabled with the reason under it: a map capture, an aerial capture, a
Street View capture, a photo submitted through a contribution link, a photo
imported from the web, a photo not yet saved to your department's photos,
or one whose origin the app can't verify. None of Coffee Table Tactics' own map, aerial, or Street View
captures can ever be used to start a set.
Generating the three stages
Describe what should change, using what you can already see in the photo —
for example, fire showing from the second-floor window on the left. The
app generates all three stages — Light, Moderate, and Heavy — from that
same clean starting photo, so they read as one fire at three points, not
three different fires. Generating counts toward your department's monthly
AI allowance.
The provenance mark
Every generated image is permanently stamped AI-GENERATED and
NOT REAL into the picture itself, plus a banner reading
"AI-GENERATED — NOT A REAL INCIDENT" — baked into the pixels, not a caption
overlay. It cannot be cropped, filtered, or hidden inside the app.
Replay
Open a saved set and scrub the drill clock — the photo cross-fades between
stages as the clock advances, holding the nearest lower stage if a rung
hasn't been generated yet, so the frame is never blank or broken. With
reduced motion turned on, the app swaps stages with a hard cut instead of a
fade. Pausing the clock freezes the frame; it never regenerates just from
opening the set.
Regenerating a stage
A saved set never changes on its own. To replace a stage, open ⋯ →
Regenerate… and confirm — regenerating replaces the saved image for that
stage only, counts toward the AI allowance again, and leaves the starting
photo untouched.
